Brewing America Hydrometer Review & How to use a Hydrometer
You guys still around Hope your well
Can you grain brew in this?
It will heat and (loosely) maintain a temperature, but there is no pump and no bag/screen. I personally wouldn't use it for brewing. I use mine as an HLT.
bye
the instruction to put the volume strip is on the sticker itself you line up the red line to the center of the dot on the bottom
I got set of nozzles for pressure washer and some angular fit in and wash off everything including everything without using any chemical.
Nice solution!
Solid review. Can i stick this in my kegerator and just dispense cold beer right from it after it's done fermenting?
So long as your kegerator is large enough for it to fit, absolutely!
Hey guys how yall doing
Hi, great review. Do you know if these are rated for continuos operation, ie, leave on boiling for steam production? 🙂
I can’t think of a reason you couldn’t use it for that. They are often used for distilling which would be much the same concept.
Do you think that this could be used with a plate chiller?
That’s a really good question, unfortunately we don’t have one. It can easily be used with a counter flow chiller, but I’m not sure the kind of pressure a plate chiller would produce. I would suggest contacting Anvil directly. Keep brewing my friend 🍻
@@HomeBrewingTV thx for the reply 👍
Can I use this to siphon mead? I'm sick of using gravity pumps because the lease keeps getting disturbed.
I’m sure you could. You’ll need to prime the pump first and there is no flow control, so I’m not sure if it will pull too hard or not for your use.
@@HomeBrewingTV I'd use it siphon 2 gallons of mead into a different bucket so I can back sweeten it.
Hey guys checking in Hope your enjoying the retirement
Thanks Fred, all is well. Keep brewing my friend 🍻
Skip the straps and flip the base! Put a couple of sticky foam pads on the rim and you are good to go. No spills. This is the third review of the all rounder I’ve watched and every one has the straps and a tippy fermenter with the base oriented up like a pedestal (that’s the clean and drain orientation). Flip the metal base so the fermenter nestles deep in there and Bob’s your uncle. Make sense? Try it.
Do you need to feed it after washing?
No
if alcohol evaporates at 172°F/78°C and water at 212°F/100°C, would it be safe to say i could set the boiler to say 192°F/89° C combined with the t500 copper condenser to get a fairly clean 90% + ABV spirit?
I don’t see why not.
Burnout happens. I’ve contemplated stopping as well as life gets priority. But, then the itch comes around as I’ve got content to share. Cheers!
Interesting looking machine and your team did a great job with an honest review. I just wish that you didn’t need disposable bags. It just seems so wasteful. I’m just not sure who this product is for. You aren’t saving money compared to buying beer at the store. It’s not as satisfying as making beer from scratch. Morebeer has e-brewing kits for under $500 that allow for 5 gallon batches. Also no-boil means pre-isomerized hops which is a bummer.
I think this machine is geared more so for the person who wants fresh homebrew without the fuss. It really is as close to a Keurig for beer as I’ve seen. But for a brewer like myself it does take the “fun” out of making beer.
Can you brew your own recipes or do you have to use their packs?
You can brew your own. They have a downloadable tool for adjusting recipes for the system.
@@HomeBrewingTV oh brilliant. That makes a huge difference. Thanks for the review guys. Great video. Now I just need to find out how to get one to New Zealand :)
Before first use, I took it apart to wash just to see some machine oil residue near the tip of the shaft. How is this thing food grade?
I'd contact the manufacture , or where you bought it. I've never experienced anything like that.
Food grade lubricant likely
There certainly isn’t!! Love it 🍻

Grow up
@@xdfuriouscat5654 you cant pour either if you're getting mad
That’s the one-handed pour. I’ve done that pour also. No beer was harmed in said pour lol.
This guy smelled the beer 50xs before drinking it.

What are you making
There are many different recipes being brewed. That particular National Brew Daw was 5 years ago. I have no idea what the recipes were anymore. 🍻
@@HomeBrewingTV oh okay
@@HomeBrewingTV I thought National homebrew day was making tea but it didn’t look like that. I didn’t physically participate in this one just watched a video

Lol well miss you guys Paul is in a funk not good Been watching Larry You guys need to hook up again Let's go Brandon
This looks great, I ordered a machine from you guys when backing you on kickstarter, I was speaking with someone back in October telling me machine should arrive soon, since then it has been radio silence, can someone please contact me regarding my order. It’s very unprofessional
You might want to try contacting the BEERmkr folks. Mike and I just reviewed the machine, we don’t make them. beermkr.com
Weird I've used this for six months now and absolutely love it. The level is pretty simple to do. Also the lid is easy to remove I think you're over tightening it. I personally think this is the best fermenter for the price it's extremely versatile, easy to use and clean plus it's robust. I've had every fermenter over flow especially if you over fill the fermenter so IMHO that's not a fair assessment of the unit because nothing in the unit itself is causing the fermentation to be overactive
Touché? Lol I’m glad you like it.
Good lord, clean that refrigerator. I wouldn't drink anything that comes out of there!
lol absolutely right! There was a bit of an explosion in there.
Can I plug this digiboil in a regular wall electrical outlet????...dont know what a certified earth socket is per instructions....Thanks.
Any grounded electrical outlet.
How long can we keep that yeast in those jars before using it and how many times can we recycle that yeast ?
No longer than a year shelf life (refrigerated), and you can reuse up to 4 or 5 times. I would suggest revitalizing the yeast with a starter if it’s sitting for more than 6 months before it’s used for a batch of beer.
Ok thank you
Can you use your own recipes in this thing?
Yes, you can download a spreadsheet from the BEERmkr website to help with the conversations.
What @Reloading Hobbyist said 👍🏻
How do i set the temperature for it to rise to a certain temperature only and stay that temp?
Use the the + or - button to raise or lower the temperature. it will hold that temperature until you change it.
new fan 🤩😍 💚💚💖 Look forward to watching more of your videos my new friend! 💚😍 Subscribed 💙💚🙏💖💖
Is hot side aeration no longer a thing?
I’ll be honest with you. I’ve never had an issue with hot side aeration. Maybe it has something to do with small batch size, maybe it’s just bs. Idk 🤷♂️
Hey brotha! You should totally do a product review on your personal set up and add links to it !
Not a bad idea. Thx
@@HomeBrewingTV would definitely use your links to get your complete setup , just to bypass all of the research. looking forward to it ! thank you !
Gentlemen, thanks for your review. Santa has one waiting for me and I am very excited to use it. I’ve been brewing for 25 years and am just running out of time to spend on the craft. This looks like the next chapter to great home brew. Mmmmm beer. Some thoughts - for the sanitizing some Everclear in a spray bottle makes it easy instead of the iso wipes. To modify the kits, get extra grains and hops from your favorite supply to tweak. Lastly, I will be making a “Futuristic” IPA by adding .5lbs more Cara10 for more malty mouthfeel and substituting Lallemand Verdant yeast. Well done!!!
Awesome! Merry Christmas to you, and enjoy!
The only UA-cam review that actually shows the fire.
Great review guys, personally I think it would be a good addition just to have. Been a home brewer for around 5 years and yes started from just a pot and bottles then it leads to all the upgrades. I do 3 5gallon batches at a time with 3 different all in ones, mash n boil, robo brew and klarstien unit. Even though there pretty much the same wattage and concept my favorite is the klarstein and it was the cheapest one came with a wort chiller also.
